On the rooftop of the National Theater's New Stage building in Prague (pearl of Brutalist architecture in the Czech Republic architected by Pavel Kupka) a sauna you've probably never heard of has been operating for 36 years. For all those years, only actors and ballerinas of the National Theatre used to go there, but in a new guise, it has opened to the public.
We were involved in the construction of the heart of the space - the sauna area. Cedar, honest handwork and modern workmanship.
The complexity of the sauna in the National Theatre space was all about extreme precision. The maximum deviation in accuracy was 1mm. Thanks to this, the lines of the benches, the individual walls and the ceiling are perfectly connected to each other and the sauna does not need to have any covering strips in the corners.
