Learn the secret of the perfect barrel sauna design
Masterfully thought-out construction
Its front side is the first thing you notice about an outdoor barrel sauna. Some producers use staves for the perimeters; the advantage of using those is the ability to cover the gaps between the parts the sauna is made of in case the producer chose an inferior technology.
We, on the other hand, do our best to make high-quality saunas and attach all parts with woodscrews. Combined with the superior quality Nordic lumber we use in our work, you do not need to worry about the construction warping due to temperature changes.
No need to install staves
The most difficult part of building an outdoor barrel sauna is its top part – as the wood takes a long time to dry out, the links between the perimeters and the staves can degrade through time, especially when made of spruce.
Some producers do not cover the top parts of the front side at all, making the tree rings visible. It is certainly an interesting method, however it’s more difficult to make. We believe the firrings and staves shouldn’t be visible at all. If you do like the staves, however, we can certainly implement them.
Hidden wiring
Wiring a crucial part of a sauna. You won’t see any cables in our saunas, though – we believe that visible wiring would interfere with the beauty of our saunas, so we do our best to hide it.
Some producers install switches and door wiring on the walls; we believe that for the best experience, they should not be noticeable.
